DAY 3: More protesters turn up for #SayNoToGalamsey #FreeTheCitizensNow demonstration

Day 3 of the #SayNoToGalamsey and #FreeTheCitizensNow demonstration in Accra witnessed an increased turnout as more demonstrators joined the cause.

Despite the early morning showers, a determined crowd clad in black gathered to demand the release of their colleagues who were arrested weeks ago.

The demonstration is also calling for an end to illegal mining popularly known as galamsey.

The demonstrators will be marching from Okponglo Traffic through Shiashie to AIS, National Service Secretariat, Kawukudi, Kanda Highway to Ridge.

They will continue from Ridge through Castle Road to Parliament House and end at the Accra Sports Stadium car park.

The demonstration has so far been peaceful with no arrest being made by the police.

Thinknewsonline.com has gathered that there will be vigil later tonight where videos of how bad galamsey has destroyed communities, water bodies among others will be aired.
