Kofi Tonto, Political Aide to Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has described the Vice President as a leader with a clear vision to address the nation’s challenges.
Speaking on SE NO PEI, a political talk show on Think TV, on Friday, Kofi Tonto unpacked the key elements of Dr. Bawumia’s 'Bold Solutions' manifesto, emphasizing that the Vice President's leadership will usher in selfless and practical solutions.
"Dr. Bawumia is committed to delivering bold solutions to the pressing issues facing Ghanaians," Mr. Tonto stated.
He highlighted that the Vice President’s vision encompasses creating wealth and jobs, especially for the youth, through a constitutional adjustment aimed at fostering a strong, resilient economy.
According to Mr. Tonto, the manifesto is rooted in the NPP’s center-right ideology, balancing free-market principles with social interventions like free maternal care and Free SHS to support the less privileged.
“Dr. Bawumia understands that Ghana cannot achieve advanced economic status without adhering to certain unwritten rules, which global financial institutions like the IMF won’t explicitly tell you,” Mr. Tonto said.
He further noted that the Vice President's government would prioritize patience from Ghanaians as the NPP works to implement tax reforms and introduce tax amnesty, offering relief to those owing taxes.
Mr. Tonto urged Ghanaians, particularly Generation Z, to embrace Dr. Bawumia's vision for the future, stating,
“He is the man with vision, and selfless leadership is what will propel this nation forward.”
