A school watchman at the Dzodze Penyi Senior High School has allegedly assaulted a second-year student of the institution.
The unfortunate incident happened at the school’s premises on Sunday July 19.
According to a student eye-witness, the school's watchman approached the injured student who was sitting in front of the school’s assembly hall together with two other colleagues and harmed him.
The eye-witness added that the security man popularly referred to by the students as ‘Soldier’ directed the students to return to their respective houses of residence. "The assaulted student was not complying to the directives as swiftly as he was expected to by the security man. The infuriated security man got angry after the student proved stubborn and started beating him with a stick which led to severe leg injuries" the student eye-witness said.
The father of the assaulted student has declined to comment about the incident.
He also noted that speaking about the incident will only bring a painful experience.
The father said "So long as my son is still alive, I will not want to speak on the matter. I give all to God”
The headmaster of the school, Edward Agbeti, according to students, jumped to the defense of the ‘uncalled for’ actions of the watchman, saying he [watchman] was only doing legitimate his job.
The headmaster has also refused to speak on the matter.
ThinkNewsOnline has however gathered that the injured student is a sicklier.
