The Electoral Commission (EC) has released an updated tally of the 2024 presidential election results, incorporating data from eight additional constituencies, with one constituency still yet to be accounted for.

This update refines the initial results announced on December 9, 2024, which were based on returns from 267 out of 276 constituencies.

The updated figures now include a breakdown of total valid votes, rejected ballots, and the overall total votes cast in the election.

President John Dramani Mahama has secured a decisive victory, successfully retaining his position.

Mahama, the candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), defeated his closest rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 4,877,611 votes.

In addition to the two major contenders, Nana Kwame Bediako, known as Cheddar, also made his mark in the election.

Running under The New Force movement, Cheddar earned 88,944 votes, representing 0.76% of the total votes cast.

The Electoral Commission's update reflects ongoing efforts to finalize the results as the country moves forward in its democratic process.

The final results, once all constituencies have been accounted for, will officially confirm the outcome of the election.
