The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has celebrated a successful year, unveiling strategic initiatives and honoring its workforce at its 2024 end-of-year celebrations held at the organization’s headquarters in Accra.
COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, Executive Director of EOCO, highlighted the organization’s efforts to enhance productivity and welfare while implementing innovative programs to maximize the potential of its staff.
“Every organization must identify what improves productivity. Is it just about work, work, work, or is it about combining work with the welfare of the people? With a significant number of women on our team, it’s essential to provide tailored programs to help them identify their strengths and weaknesses. Together, we can enhance their potential for the benefit of the organization,” COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah stated.
As part of its commitment to staff development, EOCO inaugurated two groundbreaking initiatives:
EOCO Ladies: Inspired by the Police Ladies Association, this group aims to unite women in the organization, empower them through skills development, and foster participation.
EOCO Voices: An in-house choir established to support EOCO’s events and external engagements, promoting staff morale and creativity.
“These initiatives not only build capacity but also bring us together as a team, showcasing the talents within EOCO,” she added.
The event also honored outstanding staff for their contributions in 2024 and celebrated the Retired EOCO Staff Association, an initiative aimed at retaining the knowledge and expertise of retired personnel.
“We don’t let our retirees go completely. Many of them remain valuable sources of information in their communities, supporting our work. This initiative ensures continuity and builds a supportive network for our staff even after retirement,” COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah said.
Reflecting on the achievements of 2024, she emphasized the importance of continuous improvement.
“Every year, we aim to improve upon yesterday. By assessing our progress against the five-year strategic plan, we ensure we remain on course. We are poised to do better in 2025, implementing strategies that make EOCO even stronger,” she noted.
The event served as a platform to celebrate EOCO’s successes while setting a clear vision for the year ahead, underscoring the agency’s dedication to excellence and innovation.
