The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) says it has declared Achoura The Vert Tea, a Chinese brand of green tea as wholesome.
According to the product has duly been registered by its outfit.
In a release signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Delese Mimi Darko, it said "The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) received a food safety alert regarding the presence of pesticide in Achoura The Vert Tea (a Chinese brand of green tea) on the Burkinabe and possibly the Ghanaian markets. It is instructive to note that, Achoura The Vert Tea has been duly registered by the Authority.
The release also revealed that results from the FDA's ISO Certified Laboratory revealed the non-existence of pesticide residues in the products analyzed.
The FDA has assured the public that it will continue to carry out its market surveillance in order to protect public health and safety as prescribed by the Public Health Act, 2012, Act 851.
