The Chairman of the newly launched Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that he receives daily threats from individuals opposed to the initiative.

Speaking on Accra-based television network on Monday, January 13, Ablakwa said the threats have not shaken his determination to lead the recovery of state assets allegedly misappropriated under the previous Akufo-Addo administration.

“Threats have become a daily feature, but we have tough skin, and we know the Good Lord will protect us,” Ablakwa stated, adding that he has also been a target of propaganda and fake news.

The ORAL initiative, spearheaded by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, seeks to identify, investigate, and recover state assets, including lands, vehicles, revenues, and questionable contracts allegedly diverted by officials of the former administration.

The committee, composed of respected figures such as former Auditor-General Daniel Domelovo, retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer, has already begun probing several cases.

Ablakwa assured the public that investigations would be thorough and findings would be forwarded to the Attorney General for prosecution, reiterating his unwavering commitment to the mission.

“We remain unaffected, we are resolute and focused,” he emphasized.
