The Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, on Wednesday, led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II.

The visit was to formally introduce himself as the newly appointed minister and to seek the Ga Mantse’s support for the government’s employment initiatives, particularly the Work Abroad Program.

Dr. Pelpuo was accompanied by key officials from the Wealth and Jobs Agency, the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), and the Ghanaian-European Centre under GIZ.

He briefed the Ga Mantse on the upcoming Work Abroad Program, which aims to create job opportunities for Ghanaian youth in international markets.

He further requested the traditional ruler to serve as the Patron of the initiative, a role the Ga Mantse graciously accepted.

Commending the initiative, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II lauded the government's efforts to address unemployment and encouraged collaboration to create sustainable job opportunities for Ghanaians.

He assured the minister of the Ga State’s full support and urged him to prioritize unemployed Ga youth in the employment drive to help alleviate the unemployment challenge within the region.

Dr. Pelpuo expressed gratitude to the Ga Mantse for his warm reception and pledged to ensure that job creation efforts are inclusive and impactful.

The visit marks a significant step in strengthening the partnership between the government and traditional authorities in tackling unemployment and fostering economic opportunities.
