Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, remain in custody at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) headquarters as investigations into allegations of financial misconduct and corruption continue.
According to their lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea, the couple remains resolute despite their continued detention.
Speaking in an interview with an Accra-based radio station, Lawyer Akyea expressed confidence in his client’s strength and determination to clear his name.
“He is still behind bars at EOCO headquarters, and I know he is determined to relax until justice will set him free,” Akyea stated.
The case has attracted widespread public attention, with allegations of embezzlement and misuse of public funds dominating national discourse.
Mr. Adu-Boahene is accused of diverting funds intended for cybersecurity infrastructure into private accounts, while his wife has also been implicated in the investigations.
Lawyer Atta Akyea has criticised the handling of the case, stressing the need for due process and the presumption of innocence.
He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that his clients receive a fair trial and that their rights are fully protected throughout the legal process.
