The Ministry of National Security has announced a prohibition on the operation of drones at the Black Star Square and its surrounding areas during the presidential inauguration ceremony scheduled for 7th January 2025.
This directive, which applies to all drones, including recreational and commercial types, aims to ensure the safety and security of dignitaries, visiting guests, and the general public attending the event.
In a statement issued and signed by Lily Fati Soale, Acting Chief Director, for the Minister of Information, the Ministry emphasized its commitment to maintaining a secure environment for the occasion.

"We entreat all drone operators to cooperate with this directive and respect the security measures,” the statement read.
Drone operators and the general public are urged to adhere to this directive to avoid disruptions or potential legal consequences.
The Ministry assures all stakeholders that these measures are necessary for a smooth and secure inauguration ceremony.
