The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has referred former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, to its National Disciplinary Committee over alleged misconduct following her recent public comments on the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.
In a statement issued on Thursday, March 20, 2025, the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, accused Adwoa Safo of breaching the party’s directive prohibiting public statements that could create internal divisions and undermine the party’s rebuilding efforts.
“The directive clearly instructs all party members to refrain from discussing internal matters that may cause unrest, negativity, and disaffection in the media and other platforms. Her remarks are not only a violation of this directive but also undermine the party’s rebuilding process,” Kodua Frimpong stated.
The General Secretary emphasized that as a former MP, Deputy Majority Leader, and Minister of State, Adwoa Safo was expected to uphold party unity and discipline.

“Her failure to do so reflects poorly on her and also violates Article 3(5) of the party’s constitution, which mandates members to protect and promote the party’s reputation,” he added.
Kodua Frimpong stressed that Adwoa Safo’s conduct warranted disciplinary action, as it directly contravened party rules and undermined efforts to restore party cohesion after the electoral loss.
The NPP leadership had earlier cautioned its members against making divisive public statements following the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections, urging them to focus on strengthening internal unity and regaining public trust.
Adwoa Safo’s referral to the Disciplinary Committee signals the party’s intent to clamp down on indiscipline and reinforce internal order as it strategizes for future political engagements.
