President Akufo-Addo Retires Auditor General, Yaw Domelovo


ThinkNews Online can confirm that President Akufo-Addo has officially retired the Auditor General (AG), Yaw Domelovo.


In a communique signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo, it hinted that the AG's date of retirement was June 1, 2020.




Nana Asante Bediatuo said “The attention of the President of the Republic has been drawn to records and documents made available to this Office by the Audit Service, that indicate that your date of birth is June 1, 1960, and that in accordance with article 199 (1) of the Constitution, your date of retirement as Auditor-General was June 1, 2020,”


He further explained that President Akufo-Addo has ordered Johnson Akuamoa-Asiedu to take over as the AG until a utilitarian is appointed.




"The President is of the view that you have formally left office.” the communique added. Mr. Asante Bediatuo however that Yaw Domelovo on President Akufo-Addo's behalf and wished him well in his future endeavours.
