#REOCCUPYJULORBIHOUSE: Court denies bail to Ama Governor, Ralph, pregnant protester among others

Several members of the Democracy Hub, including Ama Governor, Ralph, and a pregnant woman named Vera, have been denied bail by the Accra Circuit Court.

The group was arrested over the weekend in connection with the #ReOccupyJulorbiHouse protest, which took place in Accra.

The accused were arraigned before the court on Tuesday, where they faced charges for alleged unlawful activities during the second day of the demonstration.

Among those arrested was Vera, a four-month pregnant woman, who claims she and her partner were not part of the protest but were detained nonetheless.

"Me and my man, we are not protesters, and you take us. Our parents don't even know where we are," Vera stated.

The court has remanded the protesters in custody for two weeks, with a directive for them to reappear on October 8, 2024.

The #ReOccupyJulorbiHouse protest, which has drawn significant attention, continues to raise concerns over civil liberties and the right to demonstrate.

Further details will be provided as the story develops.
