"Request for happy ending after massage sessions were too much from male clients" - Chez Amis CEO

Belinda, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chez Amis restaurant, has shared the tumultuous journey that led her from the spa industry to her current success in the culinary world.

Known affectionately as Big Cheezy, Belinda's candid story has captivated many.

Belinda recounted her early days, starting with her training at the renowned Allure Spa in the City.

"I went to Allure Spa in the City to learn massaging, facials, and all that. But I didn’t like it; I felt like it wasn’t my calling,” she confessed.

Her transition from the spa industry to opening her own spa near Dansoman market came after a difficult breakup with an abusive boyfriend.

Despite her best efforts, the business was fraught with challenges.

"I had opened a spa around Dansoman market. But the business wasn’t going well. I was really getting customers,” she recalled.

The true reason behind the closure of her spa, however, was more troubling.

Belinda revealed that the majority of her clientele consisted of men who made inappropriate requests.

“The only customers I was getting were men who wanted massages. But when they came, they were requesting ‘happy endings’ after the sessions. And anytime I heard that, I felt disrespected,” she explained with palpable emotion.

Disheartened and disrespected, Belinda made the tough decision to close the spa.

This pivotal moment, however, paved the way for her eventual triumph in the restaurant industry, where she has since flourished.

Big Cheezy's story is a testament to resilience and determination, highlighting her journey from the challenges of unwanted advances in the spa industry to becoming a celebrated figure in the world of fine dining.
