Ghana's Minister for Youth and Sports, Isaac Kwame Asiamah has hinted that a full financial package for two Ghanaian Clubs, Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold SC who will be participating in the CAF competition is ready.
ThinkNews Online has gathered that the two heavyweights have been called upon to represent the West Africa country in the 2020/2021 edition of the CAF Inter-club competitions.
Speaking on an Accra-based television station, he said "Ahead of the start of the campaign, government has decided to provide a financial package to support the two clubs. Kotoko and Ashanti Gold will be receiving $200,000 and $150,000 respectively"
“The financial support for Kotoko and Ashgold for Africa is ready. We will give Kotoko $200,000 for their Champions League participation while Ashgold will be given $150,000 for the Confederation Cup campaign" he hinted.
“The $350,000 money is ready for both clubs. We are delivering on our promises. This means, we are not just talking”, the Sports Minister mentioned.
It is emerging that the two are preparing to start training ahead of the competition following the easing of restrictions on football by President Akufo-Addo.
