The Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo along with three of his deputies have been sacked.
The affected deputies are Kwame Adu-Darkwa, Deputy Director-General for Finance and Administration; Ms. Juliana Kpedekpo, Deputy Director-General for Operations and Benefits; and Nana Serwah Bonsu Amoako, Deputy Director-General for Investment and Development.
While no official replacements have been named yet, President John Dramani Mahama is expected to announce new appointments in the coming days.
Osafo-Maafo, son of former Presidential Advisor Yaw Osafo-Maafo, was appointed in April 2024 by then-President Nana Akufo-Addo, following the dismissal of Dr. John Ofori Tenkorang.
His tenure also saw key reshuffles within SSNIT, including the reassignment of Pearl Nana Ama Darko to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
The shake-up at SSNIT marks a significant restructuring under the new administration, with fresh leadership expected soon.
