Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama has issued a stern warning to President Nana Akufo-Addo, cautioning against any attempts to hold onto power if the unins the upcoming elections.
Speaking at a rally at Kpon Katamanso Constituency, Mr. Mahama expressed concerns about potential resistance from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in handing over power, should the NDC emerge victorious.
Mahama did not mince words, stating, "Thunder will strike you if you refuse to hand over power when we win."
His comments come amid rising political tension as the 2024 general elections approach, with both parties ramping up their campaigns.
The former president emphasized the importance of a peaceful and transparent transition of power, stressing that democracy thrives on respecting the will of the people.
He also expressed confidence in the NDC's chances, citing the party’s strong grassroots support and the growing dissatisfaction with the NPP's governance.
