The statue of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, which was vandalized by unknown individuals, has been repaired.
The statue, located at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital Roundabout in Sekondi-Takoradi, had become a subject of heated public discourse since its unveiling, drawing criticism and threats from residents, particularly the youth.
Eyewitness accounts reveal that the repair work was carried out on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, by a team comprising two men and a woman.
A police officer was later seen at the scene, providing security.
Kwame Abeka, a washing bay attendant, described the event:
While the damaged section of the statue has been restored, the identities of those who undertook the repair work remain unknown.
This development has sparked curiosity among residents, though it appears public attention has shifted from the initial controversy surrounding the statue.
For now, the mystery surrounding both the vandalism and the repair work continues to intrigue locals, leaving unanswered questions about who orchestrated the restoration effort.
